Student Success Statement
"Adversity causes some men to break -others to break records"
William A. Ward

Every person on this planet will go through a challenge in their life or have already been through one or several, these obstacles will either make you stronger or make you crumble to the ground it just depends on the type of person you are. It is you choice why would you ever want to break when you can succeed. Such as any athlete they have records set before them that they can break , even though they have a lot of competitors, they can either give up under pressure or strive to break-records. Another example are those who are homeless they have really horrible obstacles to come through, like Will Smith in The pursuit of happiness, he could have broken so easily no wife, no home and a child to care for. He never gave up he broke records in the law firm he started working in.

"Its not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that  makes the difference."
Paul Bear Bryant

In order to win a game you have to have confidence, but the more important thing is to prepare for that game. That is where we get into this outstanding quote by Paul Bear Bryant. For example when you have a test coming up the best thing to do is to prepare for it instead of just sitting around thinking i am going to pass. That bit of studying you will do makes all the difference. Preparing for the game will get you the win not the confidence you have.

"Righteous community unity starts with ONE  upright soul, whether it is a community of family members, students, neighbors, teammates, or business associates. Unity conquers worthy pursuits more quickly and with  less effort than individual effort alone."
Mr. Haymore
It only takes one person to choose the right for other people to take action as well. Such as in the video the man began alone and as more and more people heard the solo artist became a group, a group of random people who wanted to join in choosing the right. The music sounded even more lovely when more people arrived with more instruments. This can happen any place at any time it just takes one courageous person to start the train reaction to choosing the right.

"The essential thing is not knowledge, but character"
By Joseph Le Conte

You can gain so much knowledge in life from school subjects to just learning about life whether you use it or not will show your true character. What is knowledge when you dont use it wisely. Knowledge is nothing if you dont have character. For example you learn not to rob a store yet you rob it your knowledge is not being put to use and you will not have a good character.

"Good thoughts bear good fruit. Bad thoughts bear bad fruit "
James Allen

This a wonderful  statement, what this quote is saying is that when you have thoughts of choosing the wrong it will lead you to do wrong, be a good person inside and out, if you have good thoughts of helping others that is what you will do. Whatever you have thoughts is usually what you intend to do so think good happy thoughts.

Dean Smith

Dean Smith one of the greatest college basketball coaches to ever live, but that is not why he is remembered he is remembered as a man with the greatest values, and sense of being this world has yet seen. He didnt become the coach to show off to everyone that he was the best, he did it to raise these aspiring basketball stars, not only in athletics but to raise them like true men in life. He did what he knew was right.

"Its better to be alone than to be in bad company"
Anon

This is a wonderful quote that i have heard a long time ago and have followed by ever since. For example I had a group of friends in middle school when i first met them they could always make me laugh and we play around and make fun of each other times, but after a while they started taking things too far. I new that they weren't the right people to hang out with so I found a new group of friends they might have not been book smart like my other friends ,but they were kind, made me laugh, and didn't treat me in a way i didn't want to be treated, as my other friends would. I am glad i found a better group of friends, too this day they are my best friends, the best I have ever had.

"You can not do wrong and feel right. It is impossible ."
Ezra T. Benson

When ever you do something wrong you feel bad, that is just in our human nature there is no way that you cant feel an ounce of guilt or sadness. If you feel good about it, then you have no soul, you are pure evil. For example those who have commited murders have turned themselves in the most heartless  of people dont feel right after the commited a wrong it is just impossible.

" I think it better to do right even if we suffer in so doing than to incur the reproach of our consciences"
Robert E. Lee

The best thing to do is to do the right no matter the cost, that will always be better than having guilt eat away at you. He went into the war he suffered he risked his life to do what he thought was right because of this he had an approving conscience. Yet most would think what he fought for is wrong.

" Tell me what is right and I will fight for it"
Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson was our 28th president. What he is trying to say is if you ever give him a topic, he will choose the right thing to do and he will be all for it he will not stop until he made the situation right. Such as  Martin Luther King Jr. knew that the right thing to do was to give every single american citizen their full rights and he never stopped fighting for what he knew was right. Even after he was put down so many times he kept getting and up and fought for the right.

"Every time I've done something that doesn't feel right, its ended up not being right"
Mario Cuomo
All human beings have a conscience which helps them decide between right and wrong. There is always that feeling of guilt when  you do something wrong yet you know its wrong you still go along with it. At the end of the day you know that what you did is wrong and that guilt will hurt you. You will have  a consequence for what you did. When I was younger I used to talk back to my mom i knew it wasnt right but at the time i was mad i didnt think. At the end my brother showed me it was the wrong thing to do by talking to me about it. If something feels right do it, if it doesnt dont do it.
