Optometrist
Duties and Responsibilities: Optometrists
treat vision problems, they diagnose eye vision to prescribe eyeglasses,
contact lenses, or vision therapy. Some optometrists specialize in industrial
vision safety, treatment of vision related learning disabilities, and environmental
vision care. Most of the time they own their own private practice. Very few are
hired by hospitals, government agencies, optical manufacturers, or universities.
Average Salary: $78,000
Education: In high school students should
take the most challenging courses in Math, Science, and English. Before
entering an optometry program you must have at least two years of college. The
program is a four year program. After receiving their degree in optometry the
must take a state exam to start their practice.
I would not like to become an optometrist
because as I’ve said before it is not a job of my interest and not the salary
pay I am looking for.
