Duties and Responsibilities:
Sonographers work with equipment
that use high frequency waves to show an image of ones organs, or fetuses.
Physicians then you this information to treat the patient. Some sonographers specialize in certain areas
of the such as the brain, heart and pelvis. They also inform their patients of
any of their past or present medical procedures. They usually work in
hospitals.
Salary: $24,000-$38,000
Education: If still in high school student should take the most
challenging courses in Math, Science, and English. Sonographer programs offered
at a variety of colleges and hospitals. This program can go anywhere from one
year to four years depending on work expierence. You must pass an examination to
officially become a sonographer.
Reflection: I would like to become a sonographer although they
make very minimal money it seems interesting to me how sound waves can produce
an image. And I love babies so I would like to become an ultrasound technician
specifically treating the pelvis.
