Optician
Duties and Responsibilities: Opticians size glasses based upon prescription. Help customers find their eyeglass frames and then measure their faces to check for the correct size. They also measure the distance from the cornea to fit the lenses in correctly. Some specialize in fitting contact lenses and even artificial eyes. Opticians may own their own retail store or work for ophthalmologists/optometrists that sell glasses.
Salary:  $19,000-$40,000
Education:  While in high school students should take physics, geometry, and mechanical drawing. A GED or high school diploma is required to begin training. You can take a two year training program in community college or a three year on the job training.

I would not like to become an optician because I would not like to work for someone I rather be my own boss.
